A Study on the Job Market Analysis of Occupational Therapy Field in South Korea

Abstract
|
|
|
Objective : This study aims to understand the trend of the job market through the analysis of job advertisements of occupational therapists.
Methods : A total of 23,428 job advertisements posted on OTBRAIN, an occupational therapy portal site, were collected from 2011 to 2021. Recruitment regions, job types, salary levels, recruitment times, and fields were analyzed through the collected data.
Results : The percentage of job advertisements for successful applicants for the national licensing exam was total 109%, job advertisements by region were confirmed to be concentrated in the capital area with 15,226 cases (64.99%). In the case of job type, 15,574 cases (66.48%) were permanent jobs. As for the salary level, 14,382 cases (61.39%) were the highest among those with an annual salary of 2,000 ten thousand won or more and 2,499 ten thousand won or less. In the field of recruitment, there were more than 3.6 times more advertisements in the adult/senior field than in the pediatric field.
Conclusion : The job advertisements analysis through the portal site is a way to grasp the changes in the trend of job market. Through the research, it was confirmed the trend of the job market in the occupational therapy field.
